MYOB and Cloud Accounting

MYOB and Cloud Accounting: The Future of Small Business Software.

 

Our Tax and Accounting software provider, MYOB Australia will be introducing major changes to our software over the next 12 months, which will allow us to deliver a better service to our clients and add even more value.


In conjunction with the above, traditional bookkeeping and small business software such as MYOB Business Basics and MYOB Account Right (& Plus), will move to "cloud" accounting, whereby your data file will be hosted on the internet (cloud), not on your PC's hard drive.

The software you use will basically stay the same. However with your permission as your Accountants, we will be able to access the data file 24/7, real time. Furthermore:

  • You will not need to upgrade your software ever again as this will be done automatically,
  • nor will you have to email your datafile to us or back it up again, although you will still have the option to.
  • In time our office will not have to have 30 different versions of MYOB !
  • You can access your MYOB system from your iphone and prepare and send invoices at the same time.


Finally when your year end financial statements are completed, your MYOB datafile will automatically contain any changes or journals we have completed, hence your MYOB data file will be kept in complete alignment with our records and financial statements.


Over the next 12 to 18 months MYOB Australia will be rolling out the system described above and naturally our office would like to pass on any benefits of this technology to our clients. As the new software is released our office will keep you informed.
