Being a proactive firm we have responded to the needs of our clients and added a range of new services. We have evolved from a traditional tax and accounting practice to a full financial services firm providing small business owners with more than just tax returns and compliance. Our role is to help you grow your revenue, profits and business value plus create wealth using tax effective strategies such as negative gearing and superannuation. We also assist clients with their marketing and provide advice on branding, websites and promotional materials to help you get a better return on your marketing dollars. Our holistic approach to clients also extends to asset protection and succession and retirement planning.

Jamie Johns (Principal) Bachelor of Business. PNA FTIA

Jamie is the Practice Principal. Jamie has been an Accountant since 1995 after completing his business degree at the University of Ballarat. Before this Jamie grew up on a Wimmera farm near Horsham and learnt two important things from farming - Firstly, to work hard because no one owes you a living and secondly, never give up, even when the going gets tough. "When my Great, Great, Grandfather first arrived in Australia he setup an Inn, and all those after him have since been in small business, business owners or farmers, so small business is in my blood you could say".  Before starting his practice Jamie worked as an Accounting Software Teacher, a Management Accountant in private industry, was Finance Manager of the largest organisation in Western Victoria and has been a board member as both a volunteer and in a paid capacity. Jamie worked for various Accountancy firms advising in taxation and business services. It was a case of looking at "what worked and what didn't and learning as much as I could".

Jamie's role is to support and assist his team and provide clients with the following advice:

Jamie is a: Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA), a Registered Tax Agent and a Registered Agent for the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC).

Jamie is married with 4 children. Jamie loves a hit of golf as well as mowing his 6 hole golf course and landscaping. He also has been playing Basketball since he was 12, winning the Grandfinal in his competition last year. He loves watching movies based on true stories and the latest book he has read is Million Dollar Habits by Brian Tracey. Recently Jamie met two of his hero's Casey Gollan and Michael Gerber.

Paul is our Senior Accountant.  He studied at the University of Ballarat with a double degree Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Management.  Paul brings with him solid experience in taxation and small business and has worked with small and large accountancy firms across Australia.  Paul has worked with all types of small to medium sized business including Real Estate Agents, Retail and Property Development Clients and has had exposure to business valuations and due diligence assignments.  He is currently in his final stages of completing his CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) accreditation.  Paul is definitely a people person and is hands on with assisting clients in any task, big or small.   He is always smiling and brings a positive attitude to every client engagement and within the office with his colleagues. 

Paul is a born and bred local and has returned home from a move to Queensland a few years ago.  He enjoys the beach, watching a good movie, eating good food and social occasions with family and friends.  Paul is also looking to start some renovations and landscaping to his house over the coming months.

Feroz Hassan (Accountant). Masters of Professional Accounting.

Feroz is a qualified Accountant and has a Masters of Professional Accounting from Deakin University and an Accounting Degree from New Delhi Univeristy India. Feroz has previously worked for Tax Accountants and in various leadership roles. Feroz is a Key member of the KeyPlay team working in taxation and detailed compliance work. Feroz has a great knowledge of MYOB and the preparation of indivdual taxation returns. 

Feroz has been living with his partner in Ballarat for the last 3 years and loves the country feel that the Ballarat provides. A far cry from the 20 million people in New Delhi City, one of the most competitative places on the planet.  Feroz loves Cricket. His childhood hero's are his Father & Sachin Tendulkar, who have always motivated him.

Feroz's Father has always been his inspiration who taught him that, with ‘good values and hard work, success will always be his'. He believes it's your values that define your character. He wants to be remembered as someone ‘who tried really hard'. This has always motivated Feroz to make the most of his opportunities.  Feroz values our clients & our relationship with them and with his inventiveness, contribution & teamwork, ensures our clients have quality financial statements and taxation returns.
